Flying Colors is a supergroup formed by Steve Morse (Dixie Dregs, Deep Purple), Mike Portnoy (ex-Dream Theater, Winery Dogs), Neal Morse (ex-Spock's Beard, Transatlantic, solo), Dave LaRue (Dixie Dregs, Joe Satriani) and Casey McPherson (Alpha Rev). In 2012 they released their first album that was claimed as one of the best of that year, after a live album in 2013 the band now is ready to roll with a second album.
Second Nature (2014) is going to be released on Mascot Label Group on September 29th (Europe) and September 30th (World).
The pre-orders are now available and as it happens with most of the releases nowadays you’ve got many choices, in Flying Colors case Second Nature (2014) is going to be released on CD, 2LPs, iTunes digital or Amazon MP3. A special edition will be also available and features a DVD with extras:
- Music videos for 'Mask Machine' and 'A Place In Your World'.
- Over an hour of interviews with the band.
- Over an hour track-by-track analysis of the album from the band.
- Album trailer.
- Casey’s Hat confessions: A social commentary on horse radish.
All artwork on the album is by legendary designer Hugh Syme (Rush, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Megadeth, Saga, Styx, Fates Warning, Whitesnake, Queensrÿche, Aerosmith, Dream Theater and many others), including the 24-page CD Digipack booklet. Except for the DVD, designed by award-awaiting designer Bill Evans.
